Why do I need honeymoon travel insurance cover?
Whether you’re planning to soak up the sun in the Maldives or the Whitsundays – or getting adventurous in New Zealand or along the Great Barrier Reef – having the right honeymoon travel insurance cover is as important a step as the first one you took down the aisle.
Even if your wedding day went off without a hitch, and you’ve planned your honeymoon meticulously, things can still go wrong. If things do go pear-shaped during your honeymoon, travel insurance may help provide access to emergency assistance, protection against financial loss and more.
Whether it’s an unexpected illness, a flight delay or a natural disaster that requires you to cancel prepaid activities, an accident in your rental vehicle or losing your passports, honeymoon travel insurance cover can help.

Does Cover-More travel insurance cover personal items I take on my honeymoon?
At Cover-More, we provide cover for personal items such as smartphones, laptops and jewellery under our luggage and travel documents benefit*.
The inclusions and benefit limits differ across our plans, so we recommend you compare our plans before considering to buy travel insurance for your honeymoon to work out which plan is most suitable for your post-wedding trip.
Taking your wedding and engagement rings on your honeymoon? It can be easy to lose them while you’re travelling, especially if you’re still getting used to wearing them post-ceremony.
If you’re looking specifically for travel insurance for jewellery, Cover-More customers can opt to increase the item limit for their more valuable items – such as wedding and engagement rings – beyond what’s included on their chosen plan. To understand the benefit limits for valuables such as jewellery – and whether you’ll want to increase them or not – and any exclusions and conditions that apply to valuables, please read the relevant section in the PDS.
For more information on our luggage benefit and the option to increase your luggage item limit, please read the PDS.

Does Cover-More travel insurance cover injury or sickness?
If you become injured or unwell while you’re honeymooning overseas, Cover-More can help.
All our International Plans include unlimited~ overseas medical expenses cover, emergency dental cover, and access to our 24/7 Emergency Assistance team should you need medical advice or help while you’re abroad.
If you’re honeymooning in Australia, travel insurance can’t cover medical costs. (These will need to be covered by Medicare or your private health insurance, or paid for as an out-of-pocket expense.) However, if you’re a Cover-More domestic policyholder and need help while you’re travelling, you can still call our Emergency Assistance team at any time on +612 8907 5619.
If you become sick or injured before you head off on your honeymoon and you included cancellation cover^ in your Cover-More travel insurance policy, cover is provided for costs associated with cancelling or rescheduling your trip (subject to claim approval). This could help reduce out-of-pocket expenses at a time when you’d rather be focused on getting well, and is a reason to consider purchasing travel insurance as soon as you’ve booked your honeymoon.
